MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) - Belarus has made a significant contribution to ensuring security in the European region, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Christine Muttonen, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA), BelTA has learned.
“January marked 25 years since Belarus became a full member of the OSCE, Vladimir Andreichenko said. We have always been very responsible about the work in this organization. We have actively participated and made a significant contribution to ensuring security and cooperation in Europe,” the speaker said. The visit of the OSCE PA delegation to Belarus, the signing of the agreement on the 26th summer session are another step towards promoting cooperation and dialogue on all issues of mutual interest, Vladimir Andreichenko said. He also added that Belarus has recently hosted a number of important international meetings, and all of them were aimed primarily at ensuring security and stability.
The speaker assured that Belarus will do its utmost to organize the session at the high level and to ensure that guests feel comfortable. He also informed Christine Muttonen about the preparatory work already carried out ahead of the summer session.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives wished the foreign guest a pleasant stay in Belarus.
