MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Belarus takes an active part in the implementation of the initiative to build the Silk Road Economic Belt, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Nikolai Snopkov said at the event timed to the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on 29 September, BelTA has learned.
Nikolai Snopkov emphasized that Belarus was one of the first countries to support the integration initiative within the framework of the new Silk Road concept of China President Xi Jinping. The Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park will become a pivotal point in this large-scale project.
According to the deputy head of the Belarus President Administration, this year has a special importance for the Belarusian-Chinese relations. In particular, the Chinese leader paid a historical visit to Belarus, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko paid a visit to China. The two visits took place under the auspices of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. The peoples of the two countries value peace and make a big contribution to the preservation of peace.
This year is remarkable because the two sides have made huge progress in the enhancement of all-round strategic partnership. The countries take concrete steps to expand Belarus-China cooperation.
Directive No. 5 which determines the priorities and prospects of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation is also important, Nikolai Snopkov stressed.
