MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Slovenia very much appreciates Belarus' positive role in the region, Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Karl Erjavec said as he met with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 25 March, BelTA has learned.
“Slovenia very much appreciates the positive role of Belarus in the region, especially in relation to the crisis in Ukraine,” Karl Erjavec noted and added that Slovenia believes that good political relations are themselves the basis for bolstering ties in other areas.
The Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that, as a member of the European Union, Slovenia has always been against imposing sanctions on Belarus because such an approach does not help resolve the existing problems.
Karl Erjavec pointed out that Belarus and Slovenia have always maintained good relations, even during the sanctions period.
