MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – In 2022 the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk is to be held on 14-17 July, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told reporters prior to a meeting of the organizing committee of the festival on 27 October, BelTA has learned.

“Today the standing organizing committee of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will convene to take stock of its work. Three months is a sufficient period to assess how we performed financially and creatively, and how the city benefited from hosting the festival. Of course, we will discuss preparations for the next festival to take place in 2022. We plan to hold it approximate from 14 to 17 July,” Igor Petrishenko said.

The deputy prime minister informed that in 2022 great attention will be paid to song contests for young performers and children in addition to traditional festival events. “We will closely follow the preparation of our contestants for this international competition. Representatives of 32 countries took part in the festival this year. Thus, the festival retains the status of an international event; new countries are going to send their contestants. Ecuador took part in the previous edition of the festival for the first time. Slavianski Bazaar welcomes every person coming with good intentions and creative projects,” he stressed.

It is also important to prepare the city’s infrastructure and come up with new projects to draw a young audience. “We would like the younger generation to continue the festival traditions. In order to promote the festival among the youth audience, we will think of new projects to cater to every taste. Of course, we will also develop the project “The Union State Invites”, this is our Belarus-Russia brand, which will also be fleshed out with new ideas,” the deputy prime minister said.

In his opinion, the concert of artists of the Republic of Belarus should feature new names. “It is very important for our country to support its own art, develop further in this field, embrace new approaches and ideas within the framework of the Slavianski Bazaar festival,” Igor Petrishenko emphasized.
