MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Interior Ministry maintains effective partnership with governmental and non-governmental international organizations, BelTA learned from Belarusian Interior Minister Igor Shunevich on 2 March during the meeting with workers of public organizations and diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus.

“Our effective partnership boasts good dynamics. We hope that the dynamics will stay in place in the future. We hope that through common effort we will reach targeted goals,” stressed the Minister.

Igor Shunevich noted that Belarus on the whole and the Interior Ministry in particular pay close attention to the matter. “Partially thanks to that we managed to secure quite a stable state of law enforcement affairs in the country as well as public security. It allows us to say that law enforcement agencies work well and have all the necessary skills and knowledge,” noted the official.

According to the Minister, in the last ten years eleven law enforcement projects of principal importance have been implemented in the country with assistance of a number of international organizations and thanks to their donations. In particular, the project activities primarily focused on forced migration, counteraction of slave trade, the illegal turnover of drugs, and HIV/AIDS problems.

A number of praiseworthy joint events that contributed to interregional and international cooperation have been implemented in Belarus. Some of the events became the starting position for promoting international, national initiatives and laid down the stable foundation for consolidating efforts of various countries in view of the new challenges and threats, said Igor Shunevich.
