VITEBSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Scientific progress is one of the driving forces of the country’s development, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko told BelTA.
“Our country cannot move forward without the development of science. Innovative projects, new technologies should form the lion’s share of the gross value added of the Belarusian economy,” the speaker is convinced. “Belarus has created a good scientific base. It includes the Academy of Sciences, specialized institutes, and the High-Tech Park. As for the latter, it is the leading organization in the post-Soviet space and in the world.”
Vladimir Andreichenko stressed that the Belarusian science will get a new impetus for development in 2017 which was declared the Year of Science. “Science will be in the center of attention. I think that there will be more financing and support,” he said.
