MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ multi-use indoor complex Minsk Arena complies with all necessary standards to host the 2019 European Games, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov told a press conference held on 7 December to mark the premiere of Carmen on Ice show in Minsk.
“Belarus is ready to host the 2019 European Games,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said.
The IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship that took place in Belarus in 2014 demonstrated that the Belarusian capital is well-equipped to host such events.
Russian prominent figure skater and producer of Carmen on Ice show Ilya Averbukh shared his impressions of Minsk: “The city is known for its openness, cleanness city. But I would like to point out Minsk architecture. This architectural fusion appeals to me. Here, one can see European trends and Soviet-style buildings. This is exactly what Minsk and Belarus in general is interesting about.”
Carmen on Ice musical is a theatrical performance on ice. 60-meter stage sets are designed so that all the spectators could see them in full.
