MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – Belarus is working continuously to ease visa regulations with the European Union, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov said answering a question from a member of the Council of the Republic on 6 October, BelTA has learned.
“We are talking about the association of a certain number of countries. We need to reach an agreement with each of the member states so that the decision is taken in favor of Belarus. I assure you that we are making a constant effort to achieve this,” Valentin Rybakov noted.
He pointed out that in the current political situation related to Britain’s exit vote and other political issues faced by the European Union, including the migrant crisis and financial challenges, the EU places low priority on discussing possible relaxation or abolition of visa requirements with Belarus. “Still, we are working continuously on this, and I hope that our effort will yield positive result, especially taking into account that Belarus is a stable country,” Valentin Rybakov said.
