MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Russian police will provide consulting aid and guidance during forthcoming major sport events in Belarus, BelTA learned from a Facebook post of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry.
As a result of the latest session of the joint board of the internal affairs ministries of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Belarusian Internal Affairs Minister, Police Lieutenant-General Igor Shunevich stated that Russian colleagues will delegate their specialists to Belarus for the duration of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 and the ice hockey world championship. It will make public law and order measures more effective.
The Facebook post reads: “Russian police personnel will not be present at sport facilities and in public places. Instead they will provide consulting aid and guidance during sport events taking into account experience accumulated in the course of world-level sport events in Russia, including the latest football world championship in 2018.”
The source added that a certain number of police specialists will be assigned to operation centers to coordinate actions and information support during actions meant to ensure the proper level of protection of public order and security.
