MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) - Russia shows interest in inexpensive Belarusian medicines, Belarus Healthcare Minister Valery Malashko told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“We offer a lineup of socially important medicines. A large share of the medicines produced in our country cost less than Br4. Inexpensive socially important medicines are of great interest to the Russian Federation,” Valery Malashko said.
The Healthcare Ministry delegation is attending the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia to discuss the economics of healthcare with Russian colleagues. The Belarusian delegation already met with the delegations of the Udmurt Republic, Samara Oblast, and Bryansk Oblast. Belarus offers various medical equipment, medical products. “We also suggest arranging joint ventures and contract manufacturing of those products that are of interest to the Russian Federation,” the minister said.
According to him, Belarusian and Russian specialists can also cooperate in developing electronic healthcare. Belarus makes use of Russian experience in this area and is also guided by suggestions of the World Health Organizations. “Taking into account our membership in the Union State, close relations between our citizens and intense intermigration, we need to synchronize our electronic healthcare systems. We need to set common standards and establish similar legal framework despite the fact that we have different financial systems,” the minister noted.
