MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – There was no rejection on the part of Russia regarding a possibility to refinance the $1 billion loan within the framework of the bilateral cooperation, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said following the Belarus-Russia talks in Sochi, BelTA has learned.
“We discussed a possibility to refinance the $1 billion loan. There was totally no rejection here,” the head of state said.
As BelTA reported earlier, Alexander Lukashenko announced that Belarus will receive the sixth tranche of the $200m loan from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development in the nearest future. “We have received five tranches. The sixth and the seventh tranches are left. I do not see any problems with providing the sixth tranche. As it was already stated, the seventh tranche can also be negotiated. Everything depends on how, first of all, Belarus will act in this regard. I think, this matter can be settled,” the Belarusian leader said.
