MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – Russia fully supports the sovereignty and independence of Belarus, Russia Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said as he met with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.
“While we are in hospitable Minsk, we would like to stress that Russia fully supports Belarus’ sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity,” Mikhail Mishustin said.
Belarus is a close country to Russia, he noted. This is not only about the language, historical and spiritual ties. “This is also about hundreds, thousands, or millions of people who are practically one nation,” the Russian prime minister added.
The governments of the two countries are in close touch, Mikhail Mishustin said. According to him, during the recent negotiations, the prime ministers went over practically the whole agenda of the Union State and the EAEU, as well as many other matters.
The Russian prime minister came to Minsk as part of a big delegation which also includes key figures from the Russian government. The parties intend to discuss the whole bilateral agenda and future contacts, Mikhail Mishustin said.
