MOSCOW, 28 June (BelTA) – Russia expects meaningful results from the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia that will be held in Mogilev in October, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Igor Morgulov said on 28 June at a solemn reception at the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow on the occasion of Belarus’ Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.
“Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the Union State Treaty. We have passed a long way of integration and we keep actively promoting Russia-Belarus cooperation in all the areas, including manufacturing, innovations and interregional contacts. We expect the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia to make a substantial practical contribution to bilateral cooperation,” Igor Morgulov said.
He noted that it is for a reason that Belarus celebrates its national holiday on the day when Minsk was liberated from the Nazi invaders. This day is among the most important victories in the Great Patriotic War and is a symbol of unbreakable spirit and selfless fight of Belarusians and all Soviet citizens for freedom and peace, Igor Morgulov said.
