MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) - Belarus can have good relations with both the European Union and Russia, Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Belgium, said after the talks with Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 15 March, BelTA has learned.
“We know that it is not easy to be a neighbor of the European Union. We are doing our best to convince our partners in Moscow that Belarus can have good relations with both the European Union and Russia,” the Vice Premier of Belgium said.
“We are currently in difficult talks with Russia on various issues. We, however, continue to believe and to persuade that it is normal to have good relations with all the neighbors. It is important for Belarus to continue diversifying its relations with neighbors,” Didier Reynders added.
