MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Restoration works at the National Art Museum of Belarus are well underway despite all financial straits, Belarus Culture Minister Boris Svetlov told media at a meeting to mark International Culture Day on 15 April, BelTA has learned.
“Despite all financial difficulties the works continue, and a museum quarter in Minsk will appear in three years,” he said.
Restoration works are currently underway in two buildings in Kirova Street and Karl Marx Street. The building of the existing museum will be connected to new buildings with the help of galleries.
In his words, a voluntary clean-up day will be held in Belarus on 23 April, and the majority of its participants across the country express their wish to work on cultural facilities, including both small and big cultural facilities and monuments, among which is the National Art Museum of Belarus as well.
