Relations with Belarus viewed as very important for Moldova
CHISINAU, 2 May (BelTA) – Relations with Belarus are very important for Moldova, Moldova President Igor Dodon said when speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition of war posters arranged by the Belarusian cultural center in Moldova, BelTA learned from the press service of the Moldovan leader.
Igor Dodon said that the Belarusian cultural center with the support of the Embassy of Belarus in Moldova is doing a good cause contributing to the preservation of the memory of the war and the common victory.
“I view the relations with Belarus as very important for Moldova. I am grateful to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko for supporting my country. My visit to Belarus in July this year will be an important event,” the Moldovan head of state said.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Ambassador of Belarus to Moldova Sergei Chichuk, Great Patriotic War veterans, prisoner of the Magdeburg concentration camp Lyubov Osadchuk and other honorable guests.
Belarusian anti-Nazi posters on display in Moldova
CHISINAU, 2 May (BelTA) – An exhibition of Great Patriotic War anti-Nazi posters opened in the Belarusian Cultural Center in Chisinau, Moldova, BelTA has learned. The posters have been provided by the National History Museum of Belarus. The exhibition is timed to the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War.The exhibition demonstrates Soviet posters dating back to World War Two as a historical document.
Moldova President Igor Dodon, Ambassador of Belarus to Moldova Sergei Chichuk, President of the Belarusian Cultural Center Anna Babina, a former Nazi death camp prisoner Lyubov Osadchuk, and a war veteran Vladimir Voitsekhovich, who took part in the Red Square victory parade in 1945, addressed the war veterans, who came for the occasion, representatives of Moldovan government agencies, the diplomatic corps, the Belarusian diaspora and other national diasporas.
After viewing the exhibition the president of the Belarusian Cultural Center and the ambassador of Belarus to Moldova introduced the dignitaries to the center’s permanent exhibition, the history of its creation, and the main areas of activity.
A concert by music collectives of the Belarusian diaspora and young performers took place. Gifts were presented to the war veterans.
Moldova President Igor Dodon left a note in the distinguished visitors’ book of the Belarusian Cultural Center.
