MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) - Relations between Belarus and Russia are the most advanced in the post-Soviet space, Russian President Vladimir Putin said as he met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
We pay much attention to the economy and also to social issues. In general, our citizens benefit from this. The Russian side intends to keep this attitude and is ready to move forward, Vladimir Putin noted.
The Russian President noted that although the trade and economic cooperation decreased last year, it has already rebounded this year. “The Belarusian exports to Russia are growing much faster than the Russian imports to Belarus. This is a very good signal. We need to think about how to maintain this positive trend and strengthen it during today’s meeting,” the Russian head of state said.
