VITEBSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk helps bring nations closer to each other, BelTA learned from the welcome address extended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin to participants, guests, and organizers of the festival. The welcome address was read out by Ivan Melnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, during the solemn opening ceremony of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 13 July.
Vladimir Putin’s welcome address reads: “For more than 25 years every summer the hospitable Belarusian land has been hosting a bright and spectacular show for everyone, who appreciates the rich culture of Slavonic nations. There is no doubt that such a large-scale joint cultural event contributes heavily to the advancement of fruitful humanitarian cooperation. It facilitates mutual spiritual enrichment and brings nations closer to each other.”
The president of Russia is convinced that this year residents and guests of the ancient city of Vitebsk will be treated to unforgettable impressions since the program of the festival features performers from neighboring countries and many other states. Concerts of classic music, modern music, and folk music will be held as well as multiple exhibitions and painting contests, theatrical productions will be staged, reads the welcome address.
