SOCHI, 11 October (BelTA) – We have every opportunity to launch new big mutually beneficial projects in the CIS, Russian President Vladimir Putin said as he opened the CIS Heads of State Council summit in Sochi on 11 October, BelTA has learned.
“We have every opportunity to launch new big mutually-beneficial projects in the CIS,” said Vladimir Putin.
The Russian president took note of the busy agenda of the summit. The summiteers are expected to discuss the ways to bolster cooperation in the CIS and to enhance its efficiency. Special focus will be attached to the economic matters, trading and investment ties, the existing barriers to the movement of goods and services.
“We are set to make a number of important decisions in the humanitarian area. We are convinced that they will help promote good neighborly ties between our countries and peoples and assist a wider exchange in culture, education, science and tourism,” the Russian head of state said.
