MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Renowned conductor Vladimir Spivakov praised the professionalism of Belarusian musicians at a press conference held in Minsk to mark the opening of the international festival Vladimir Spivakov Invites scheduled for 16 February, BelTA has learned.
Shortly before the press conference, the maestro had a rehearsal with the orchestra of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus that will take part in the opening of the festival.
Vladimir Spivakov was very content with the work of the musicians. In his words, the Belarusian Bolshoi Theater has a wonderful orchestra, and it is a pity that in the international music world Belarus does not have the recognition it deserves.
The opening concert will feature world opera star Hibla Gerzmava. Vladimir Spivakov said he is happy that the singer has agreed to come to Belarus and perform for the Belarusian audience. “Hibla Gerzmava has an exceptional talent. She performed on the world’s best stages. The singer’s schedule is full for months ahead, and I am glad that she has agreed to come to Belarus,” Vladimir Spivakov pointed out.
As the eminent conductor shared his impressions of the concerts in Belarus, he said about a special atmosphere. “Belarus has unique traditions. I have a heart-felt attraction to this country,” Vladimir Spivakov added.
