MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Belarus is always open for a constructive dialogue on information and communication technology (ICT) with foreign partners, Belarusian Communications and Information Technology Minister Sergei Popkov said as he opened the third Belarusian-Azerbaijani ICT business forum, BelTA has learned.
Sergei Popkov noted that ICT is one of the most rapidly developing sectors. To keep up with the global trends, it is necessary to actively cooperate with foreign partners. This, in turn, guarantees successful economic development. Sergei Popkov expressed confidence that the Belarusian-Azerbaijani business forum will serve as a “good platform for searching for new forms of cooperation, including the development of software products, solutions and training of highly skilled specialists.”
For his part, Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ramin Namiq oglu Guluzade noted that the two countries cooperate in the implementation of advanced ICT technologies and work to enhance their scientific and technical capacity. He added that the third business forum will provide specialists with an opportunity to exchange best practices and discuss new cooperation areas.
The topics on the agenda of the forum include the development of e-government, the role of mobile service providers in public-private partnership, and other relevant issues of the Belarusian-Azerbaijani cooperation in ICT.
