HANOI, 8 December (BelTA) – Vietnam views Belarus as an important partner in the region, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh said as he met with Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko on 8 December, BelTA has learned.
The prime minister of Vietnam noted that Belarus is an advocate of stability and development in the region and in the world, it pursues an independent multi-vector policy, and is a good, reliable friend for all countries and a responsible member of the international community.
Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Belarus has been a long-standing friend of Vietnam. “One of our priorities is to cultivate relations with our traditional friends and neighbors,” the Vietnamese head of government added.
“For us, Belarus is a loyal friend, we value our long-standing friendship and cooperation,” Pham Minh Chinh said at the meeting with Roman Golovchenko.
He noted that the Vietnamese have very warm regards for the Belarusians. “The Belarusian people helped us during the war and now as we are building and defending our country,” Pham Minh Chinh said.
He added: “I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the government and people of Belarus for donating medical equipment to us at the end of 2021. You sent us much-needed medical equipment back then.”
According to him, Vietnam is willing to promote multilateral cooperation with the Republic of Belarus.
“We view Belarus as an important partner in the region and we want to build on existing contacts,” the prime minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam emphasized.
During the negotiations, the prime ministers of Belarus and Vietnam took part in the solemn ceremony of signing and exchanging cooperation documents.
In particular, the government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed an agreement on the mutual abolition of visas in Hanoi on 8 December.
