MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) - Cuba will continue to support Belarus in all international organizations, Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz told the media following the talks with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, BelTA has learned.
"Our countries live under the regime of Western sanctions. We must stand united to counter them. We share your approach that we should not just complain about certain sanctions but look for new opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation," Manuel Marrero Cruz noted.
Due to the U.S. blockade, the situation for Cuba is very difficult, he said. "All our intergovernmental and joint business projects will contribute to improving the quality of life of Cuban people. We would like to sincerely thank you for the sympathy and brotherhood that we feel on the part of the leadership and people of Belarus. We are also very grateful to your country for its position in international organizations calling to end the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed on Cuba. Cuba will continue to support Belarus in all international organizations and condemn all kinds of sanctions against your country," the Cuban prime minister said.
