TASHKENT, 2 November (BelTA) – Belarus seeks to bolster trade with Kyrgyzstan, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, BelTA has learned.
Andrei Kobyakov suggested taking stock of the bilateral agreements in order to enhance cooperation. The prime minister noted that this year the trade between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan has increased markedly, including through coordinated work of departments of the two countries.
“Our task is to move forward and never stop at what we have achieved. The potential of our bilateral cooperation is great. For the time being we are just approaching the level of trade we once had,” Andrei Kobyakov said. In his view, the cooperation with Kyrgyzstan must rely not only on trade but also on investment projects.
Sapar Isakov, in turn, stressed that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the relations with Belarus. He agreed with his Belarusian counterpart that the current level of trade does not meet the potential and that the two countries need to strive for higher figures.
Kyrgyzstan is currently implementing the Taza Koom digital transformation program and looks forward to working with Belarus in this regard, Sapar Isakov added.
