PM: Belarus is an active participant of various integration formats

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) - Belarus is an active participant of various integration formats, sees it as its priority, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the media on 26 October, BelTA has learned.

“All integration formats overlap each other. We have intercrossing issues within the Union State, EAEU, CIS, and SCO. The best practices are taken from the experience of each association, as there are no contradictions between them. These integration structures are not directed against each other, they unite like-minded countries, which can move forward with a different speed within various associations. Belarus is the most active participant of any integration format. We believe that every hour of communication is very important. That is why the integration of integrations remains our top priority,” Roman Golovchenko said.

The prime minister also touched upon the development of cooperation in the CIS format. “We have been working towards an agreement on free trade in services in the CIS for many years, trying to harmonize positions. We have finally succeeded. The agreement requires ratification in many countries now. In fact, this is a barrier-free movement of services in the CIS space, and everyone is going to benefit from it. Any seamlessness is very important. Moreover, our colleagues are looking at how effectively the seamless movement of goods through electronic customs declarations and their exchange is implemented. Today we receive proposals from the CIS countries, which are not members of the EAEU, to sign such agreements on a bilateral basis, because this experience is hailed by our partners as positive,” the prime minister said.

Bishkek hosted meetings of the SCO Heads of Government Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the CIS Heads of Government Council on 26 October.
