Pearce: Belarus holds a crucially important position between the West and the East
MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) - Belarus holds a crucially important position between the West and the East, U.S. Congressman from New Mexico State Steve Pearce told a press conference in the National Olympic Committee (NOC) held on 28 May ahead of friendlies between NBA former players and the Belarusian national team, BelTA has learned.
There are many disagreements in the political life of different countries. Sport, however, unites people. You come to the court to destroy the rivals, yet remembering about the rules of the game. Unfortunately, the real life is often different. Today Belarus holds an incredibly important position between the West and the East. It took the President of Belarus a lot of effort to bring the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to the negotiating table, Steve Pearce noted.

The friendlies between NBA former players and the Belarusian national team will take place at Minsk’s Palace of Sport on 30 May and at the Mogilev Sports Center Olympiyets on 1 June.
