Parliament speaker: Belarus is always open to equal dialogue but does not accept dictate

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus is always open to an equal dialogue but does not accept dictate, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told BelTA.

"Foreign media, the internet are abuzz with news about militaristic activity of political figures. We see them seriously discussing the possibility of nuclear strikes and their consequences, auditing army arsenals and launching military production, building up troops and psyching up their own people," Vladimir Andreichenko said. “In these circumstances, the issues of ensuring security raised by the president at the recent meeting are an urgent necessity. The bellicose rhetoric of Western states against Belarus, unprecedented sanctions pressure, provocations on the borders, attempts to destabilize the situation in the country are aimed at dividing our society and changing the political course.”

The West does not need a strong and independent state in the center of Europe, defending its own rights, the speaker said. “They need another vassal who fulfills any wish of the master, regardless of the interests of the people. Information and psychological pressure, substitution of concepts, degradation of morality, the formation of virtual reality, the cult of individualism, the propaganda of their own values… All these are tools for shaking the foundations of statehood. They are used in conjunction with economic, political and military means, united by the common concept of ‘color revolution’," he stressed. “Belarus is practically the only country where the West’s universal scenario failed. We have survived, preserved our own statehood and are ready to defend it using all available means. To do this, we have reliable allies, a modern army, a united people and a strong leader of the nation. Belarus is always open to an equal dialogue but does not accept dictate."

"In the context of the formation of a multipolar world, it is the dialogue that should become the basis of interstate relations. Those who oppose this and rely on force should remember Albert Einstein’s quote: ‘I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones’," Vladimir Andreichenko added.
