MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – A united nation can withstand any hardships, BelTA learned from Mikhail Orda, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB), as he commented on the Belarus president’s address to the nation and the parliament on 24 April.
The trade unions head said: “An important message the address contains is that we should stay united. Unity is the determining factor that allows one to handle problems. Emerging difficulties can be resolved only if we stay together and pool efforts to deal with issues.”
Mikhail Orda drew attention to the creation of highly effective, high-performance jobs, which determine salaries and the overall living standards of individuals. “I am happy to say that the Belarusian state will remain a state for the people. The entire government policy of today is designed to take care of working people so that they could work and evolve,” stressed the official.
These matters are central to the work of trade unions, Mikhail Orda added. If revenues of the population rise, then the purchasing power rises. Trade unions believe that Belarusians should have enough money to pay for utilities, take care of themselves, and maintain a decent standard of living.
