MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Every year the international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO demonstrates the rapidity of global changes, which shape the digital reality, and gives an opportunity to take a glimpse at the world of tomorrow, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov.
Vladimir Gusakov underlined the importance of the forum for bolstering the competitive ability of the Belarusian economy. “The gap between developed digital economies and developing ones continues to grow larger. The development of digital technologies through joint efforts of the public sector and the private one in all areas is crucial to keeping the country competitive. Interdisciplinarity is one of the areas TIBO 2019 focuses on,” the official said.
Vladimir Gusakov also spoke about the forum’s scientific and educational aspect. “The success of products and services on the market and hence in the social sphere depends on the effective use of modern information technologies. A country, which embarks on digital development as a high priority and invests heavily in key assets and areas of information and communication technologies, enjoys unlimited growth opportunities,” Vladimir Gusakov believes.
TIBO 2019 is scheduled to take place at premises of Minsk Arena on 8-12 April. The forum features major events in the area of information and communications technologies involving heads of international and regional organizations, foreign government agencies and communications companies. The number includes the Eurasian Digital Forum, the Belarusian ICT Summit, a conference on frequency spectrum management for the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe states, and a seminar of the International Telecommunication Union on radio monitoring.
