MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – The visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Austria will help build a stronger foundation for economic and humanitarian relations between the two countries, Vice Chairman of the Belarusian-Austrian Society David Stockinger said in an interview to the ONT TV channel on 10 November, BelTA has learned.
Austria is looking forward to the Belarusian president’s visit, David Stockinger said. “We are confident that this is a step forward, an opportunity to build a stronger foundation for the economic and humanitarian relations,” he said, commenting on the forthcoming visit of the Belarusian leader.
“Austria has always been for neutrality. We are not a NATO member. Belarus is a country that promotes peace. This makes us even closer to each other. We have always advocated dialogue and trade,” David Stockinger said. He added that the relations of the two countries have always based on mutual trust.
As BelTA reported earlier, the Belarusian president is expected to pay an official visit to Austria on 11-12 November.
