MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) - Honorary consuls promote the attraction of foreign investors and foreign partners for the implementation of joint projects with Belarus, Belarus’ First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Yeudachenka said at the first conference of the honorary consuls of Belarus on 5 October. Today’s meeting is attended by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, BelTA has learned.
"I can state with all the responsibility that the honorary consuls have a clear understanding that they serve as providers of Belarusian producers in their countries' markets, an active link in attracting foreign investors and partners for the implementation of joint projects," said Andrei Yeudachenka.
He also noted that the head of state and the government had set a number of ambitious trade and economic tasks related to exports, investment, and the preparation of innovative projects. "We, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, our foreign establishments, ministries and agencies, honorary consuls, need to address these tasks jointly," said Andrei Yeudachenka.
The first deputy minister also stressed as important that the honorary consuls were able to see modern Belarus by themselves. "Of course, many of you have already been here before, but there are also those who have come here for the first time. And it is for the first time we have met in such "a concentration", with the direct participation of the leadership and the members of the Council of Ministers. We have a saying: seeing once is better than hearing twice. You have an opportunity to see, hear, and convey the objective information about Belarus and its potential to every partner in your countries,” he said.
