MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) - The events of the Great Patriotic War should serve as a lesson for life, for the sake of peace and development, Moldova Ambassador to Belarus Victor Sorocean told the media, BelTA has learned.
“The further the terrible years of the war are away from us, the more we need to talk about them. The memory of the war should be passed over to to descendants to make sure the things that happened then should never be repeated. This is the lesson for life, otherwise there will be no peaceful sky, nor development that we see in Belarus,” the Ambassador said.
According to him, the Victory Day celebration brings the peoples of Belarus and Moldova closer because they have common heroes. Among them was Moldova’s native Sergei Bolgarin who participated in the battles for the liberation of Belarus and was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
“Moldova honors this day too. I am sure that it will live forever,” the diploamt added.
