MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – The effect from the EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative should be tangible for the ordinary public, Belarus’ Ambassador to Belgium with concurrent accreditation to Luxembourg Alexander Mikhnevich said in an interview to ONT TV channel, BelTA informs.
“The main topic we have been actively promoting is to have a tangible result from the Eastern Partnership for ordinary people. This includes visa facilitation, the abolition of roaming charges, the simplification of contacts, new management and communication technologies, and the solution of transport and border matters. Our delegation that will be led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei will focus on the abovementioned issues,” Alexander Mikhnevich said.
In his words, Belarus advocates for the unity of the Eastern Partnership member states, despite the different level of cooperation with the European Union.
The Eastern Partnership summit will take place in Brussels on 24 November.
