MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – Belarusians can be proud of their country’s achievements, Lilia Ananich, Deputy Chairperson of the Belarusian Union of Women, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media of the House of Representatives, said at the panel discussion “Economy. Shock-Free Development”, BelTA has learned.
“We cannot but take pride in the achievements of our country. I would like to cite several examples. Today 70% of products Belarus makes is exported. This means that our intelligence, our specialists are important not only to us but also to the global economy. The export of healthcare services has soared 42 times in the past decades. We have strengthened our positions, being a regional leader in the production of tractors. Belaruskali accounts for 20% of the global production of potash fertilizers. Our BelAZ with the loading capacity of 450t has been inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records,” Lilia Ananich said.
She named the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone an innovative locomotive. “70% of the projects implemented there are manufactures of the 5th and 6th technological paradigms. This is crucial for the country’s further development,” the MP said.
Among Belarus’ achievements is also the Hi-Tech Park. “Decree No.8 on the development of digital economy adopted in 2017 created unprecedented conditions for the development of the IT sector. Today we have amazing results. As for the agrarian sector, the export potential of our food products is several billions of US dollars. We produce enough food for ourselves and actively sell staples abroad,” Lilia Ananich said.
The MPs also emphasized Belarus’ high positions in various rankings. This includes the country’s 30th place in the international ranking on education, 25th position in the international maternity and childhood rankings.
