MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – Presiding at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Belarus demonstrates a good example of how to approach the crisis, member of the Board (Minister) on Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Sergei Glazyev said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus, as chairman of the Eurasian Economic Union, demonstrates a good example of how to approach the crisis. To date, Belarus has had minimal losses. Virtually no industry has been stopped. The measures that Belarus has been taking both in the national economy and initiatives for the EAEU give a clear prospect of recovery from the crisis. First of all, it is an increased investment in joint production, the use of competitive advantages,” Sergei Glazyev said.
He added that the EAEU Heads of State summit that took place in mid-April at the initiative of the Belarusian president, had resulted in an adoption of a declaration, and a detailed system of measures had already been approved. It includes both short-term tasks and a medium-term plan to launch joint programs and stimulate economic growth to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic as soon as possible.
