MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarus plays a very important role in ensuring stability in the region, Johanna Brandt, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, told the media on 10 July, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is a very important partner for us as it is located in the geographical center of Europe and borders on the European Union. The country plays a very important role in ensuring stability in the region. We are very glad that Belarus has organized the Minsk dialogue,” the diplomat said.
Johanna Brandt together with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei attended the opening of the Office of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Minsk. The opening of the office is an important step towards closer bilateral relations, she emphasized.
Johanna Brandt said that two Dutch diplomats will be working at the Embassy Office in Minsk. The consular services, as before, will be provided by the German Embassy in Belarus.
During her visit to Belarus, Johanna Brandt met with representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MPs, politicians, students, members of the public and the media.
