MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ multipronged policy does not mean that the country is double-faced, but it is confirmation of its independence, Nikolai Shchekin, Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Head of the Sociology of Public Administration Department at the Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, told the ONT TV channel, BelTA informs.
“A multipronged policy does not mean being Janus-faced and serving two gods, no way. A multipronged approach should be pursued in foreign policy and economy, as this is a concentrated expression of the sovereignty and independence of Belarus,” Nikolai Shchekin believes.
In his opinion, Belarus will never be able to become a neutral state and it will cooperate with everyone. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the country has no friends in the international arena - only partners and allies. “One should not rely on friendship. The main thing now is to rely only on yourself and to work, but for this you need to have stability in Belarus,” he emphasized.
