MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) – Air China helps strengthen Belarus-China contacts, Director General of the company’s Minsk office Wang Zhengfeng said at an Air China presentation on 26 December, BelTA informs.
The launch of a direct route from Beijing to Minsk operated by Air China two and a half years ago had a positive impact on Belarus-China cooperation, Wang Zhengfeng underlined. The air service caters for businessmen, tourists, and students. All in all, 62,000 passengers have traveled on this route to date.
The company is expanding its services, putting a focus on quality. “Our company is a state-run enterprise and an active participant of the Belt and Road initiative, a sort of an air Silk Road,” the executive noted.
The presentation brought together representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry, the Aviation Department of Belarus’ Transport and Communications Ministry, and other government bodies and agencies.
Air China Ltd is a Chinese state-owned airline headquartered in Beijing. The company joined the Star Alliance in December 2007. This is a flagship airline and the only Chinese flag carrier.
Air China's route network covers Asia, the Middle East, Western Europe, North and South America. Most flights operated by the company, including those to Belarus, depart from Beijing.
