MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) - President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has extended greetings as the country celebrates Physical Education and Sport Workers Day on 18 May, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ NOC.
“Traditionally, this holiday is celebrated by athletes, coaches and all those who are engaged in physical education and lead an active lifestyle. Belarus has long occupied its rightful place in the global sports community. The country is known for its victories and glorious traditions of both elite and mass sports. We have created a strong base for professional athletes, young sportsmen and amateurs,” Viktor Lukashenko said in his message of greetings.
“I am sure each of you stays fully committed to the cause you have chosen. Thanks to the chosen path, many have found great friends, reliable colleagues and talented students. Special words of gratitude to veteran workers. They have dedicated their lives to their favorite occupation. In their youth they glorified our country on the international arena, and now many of them are bringing up future champions. From the bottom of my heart I wish you strong health, optimism, kindness and prosperity! Let sport always be your source of energy and inspiration,” the message of greetings reads.
