MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – I hope the decision of the European Union to lift the sanctions from Belarus will hold, Serbia President Tomislav Nikolic said as he met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on 19 November, BelTA has learned.
“I hope that the decision will hold. Sanctions are always a shame for those who impose them, not for those against whom they are imposed,” the President of Serbia stressed.
Tomislav Nikolic said that the EU made a mistake when it chose not to cooperate with Belarus. However, the Normandy Four members gathered in Minsk when the situation in Ukraine turned into tragedy, the Serbia President emphasized.
Speaking about the bilateral relations, he noted that the leaders of the two countries have advanced cooperation and personal friendship.
