MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – The fourth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will be dedicated to high technologies. The forum is expected to outline the bright future of high technologies. The opinion was voiced by Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich during the session of the forum’s organizing committee in Minsk on 9 January, BelTA has learned.
The forum is scheduled to take place in Moscow on 29-30 June. The event is supposed to highlight vectors of integration-driven development of regions of Belarus and Russia in the sphere of innovative and information technologies. “Judging by its agenda, the fourth forum will present a rather powerful prospect, a look into the future,” noted Mikhail Myasnikovich. High technologies are particularly topical in Belarus since the year 2017 has been declared the Year of Science and innovations are a priority of the national social and economic development program for the period till 2020.
Interest in taking part in the Forum of Regions is traditionally high. The forum offers a platform for free discussions about a large number of matters. The forum is a high-profile event since the presidents of Belarus and Russia take part in the forum.
The organizing committee was convened at premises of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on 9 January to work out concrete proposals for organizing the forum. The proposals will be revealed during a session of the joint organizing committee in Moscow on 19 January.
