MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) - Relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan have reached a high strategic level, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said during the one-on-one talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“Relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan have reached a high strategic level,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said adding that there are no obstacles to their development.
In 2017 Belarus and Kazakhstan celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that over the years, the two countries, primarily through the efforts of the Belarusian leader, “have created a powerful economic and political basis of friendship and cooperation”.
The president of Kazakhstan stressed that over the years of Alexander Lukashenko’ presidency Belarus has become a developed European country. The Belarusian agriculture is well-known worldwide. The country’s mechanical engineering has a high potential. “Today 260 Belarusian companies work in Kazakhstan, including with your support,and we have your products in our stores,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In his words, new contracts will be signed at the bilateral business forum today. There are also plans to conclude an agreement on localization and setting up of new assembly plants.
