MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to the personnel of the National Library which celebrates the 95th anniversary, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Today your institution is by right considered the major enlightenment center in our country. You preserve and value the wisdom of the nation, its spiritual wealth and cultural legacy,” the Belarusian president stressed.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, in the age of robust development of information technologies book remains a source of knowledge, a faithful companion of readers in a fascinating adventure across countries, continents, historical periods. It is symbolic that the anniversary of the library coincides with another important date – the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing.
The president expressed confidence that the personnel of the library will continue to spread the best enlightenment traditions, promote spiritual and moral values, and awaken patriotism in readers.
