Myasnikovich: Good future for biotechnology in Belarus

MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Biotechnology in Belarus has a good future, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich told reporters during the National Clean-Up Day, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich said that he sees a good future for biotechnology in Belarus. “It is exactly the industry that the country needs. Products are of low material-and-energy intensity. The demand for them is growing,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.

The design capacity of the future plant is 20 tonnes of dried probiotics and 56 tonnes of microbial preparations in liquid form for plant growing. In terms of efficiency and qualitative characteristics the plant will not yield to foreign analogues. “Products that this plant will make are already undergoing tests in Turkey. We already have orders from Russia. The plant is not yet operational but we already have an order intake,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
