Moldovan Ambassador: Moldova views Belarus as friendly, fraternal country

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – Moldova views Belarus as a friendly and fraternal country, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Belarus Gheorghe Hioara said during a meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 28 April. The meeting was held in view of the expiry of the diplomat’s term of office in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Georghe Hioara drew attention to the fact that Moldovans have a warm regard for Belarusians and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. “Our countries do not have anything to argue about, and Moldova views Belarus as a friendly and fraternal country,” Georghe Hioara noted. “Our human and economic relations remain at the highest level.”

He said that he first visited Minsk in 1969 as member of Moldovan wrestling team. That was when his friendship with Belarusians began. The diplomat underlined that the countries have never had any barriers and this will hopefully remain so in future. The ambassador remarked that he fell in love with Belarus and its hospitable and talented people.

The Moldovan side hopes that Belarus-Moldova cooperation will only expand in the future.
