MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The regional forum of the national SDG coordinators is designed to intensify collective efforts for peace and prosperity in the region, runs Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko’s greeting address to the participants of the forum, BelTA informs.
The president’s greetings were read out by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov. “With the UN support, Belarus initiated the forum in order to intensify collective efforts in the region for peace, prosperity, mutually beneficial cooperation and equal opportunities for all on the healthy planet,” the message runs.
Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the world leaders at the UN summit require joint large-scale actions, investment, persistence to secure economic growth, healthy environment, decent living conditions for every person and innovations.
According to the president, the forum is the first symbolic step towards uniting people and institutes involved in the everyday efforts to address global issues.
“The participation of the UN leadership, its agencies and regional organizations in the forum confirms our determination to change the life on the planet for the better,” the head of state stressed.
Alexander Lukashenko wished the participants of the forum fruitful work, new partner contacts and every success in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
