MOSCOW, 6 October (BelTA) – Minsk has become a good platform for building a dialogue between the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA learned from Tatyana Valovaya, Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, during the press conference in Moscow on 6 October.
The official stated that at present there are no official contacts between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. She stressed that in these conditions Belarus has become an important platform that connects the Eurasian Economic Union with the European Union. Belarus has made a huge contribution to the advancement of these relations in the last few years, said Tatyana Valovaya.
“Minsk is becoming an important point of the union where major international events are arranged,” noted the official. In particular, Belarus hosts a large number of various events concerning economic interaction together with representatives of the European Union.
Tatyana Valovaya also stated that Belarus boasts a well-developed infrastructure. The country is a leader in new tracks, she noted. In her words, the Belarusian side actively promotes the digital agenda in the Eurasian Economic Union.
