MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – Today Minsk is an exemplary city for hosting various sports and cultural events, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with top officials and executives of the city of Minsk on 7 July, BelTA has learned.
The head of state recalled how the infrastructure of the capital city, including the completion of the construction of the Palace of the Republic, the erection of a new building of the National Library, was developing in the past decades.
Huge efforts were taken to build modern sports facilities, and the 2nd European Games were a success as a result. “It was a breakthrough. If you want, a diplomatic breakthrough,” he stressed.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, all erected facilities will be used by future generations of Minsk residents. “Today Minsk is an exemplary city for hosting various sports and cultural events,” the president said.
