MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) - The World Health Organization will recommend Belarus’ procedures for management of patients with confirmed coronavirus disease to neighboring countries, Belarus Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik said in an interview with the ONT TV channel on 12 April, BelTA has learned.
“When we discussed the diagnostic and treatment procedures for patients with confirmed coronavirus infection, the WHO experts said these procedures did not require any correction. In addition, they said they will recommend many neighboring countries that they implement the approaches that we use to treat these patients in our country,” Vladimir Karanik said.
The WHO mission worked in Belarus from 8 to 11 April. It arrived in the country at the invitation of President Aleksandr Lukashenko to assess the situation, the measures taken and approaches to medical care in the country. The WHO experts visited the healthcare facilities of Minsk, Minsk Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast.
“The objective view by WHO experts and their assessment were important to us. This helps us compare notes. It was not for nothing that the WHO experts later noted that this is a process of mutual training,” the minister added.
