MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to develop relations with Angola, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with his Angolan counterpart Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti in Minsk on 26 June, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Makei noted that Belarus attaches great importance to the political and economic relations with Angola, and is ready to establish a strategic partnership. The countries are considering prospects for strengthening their interaction in different areas.
The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs expressed confidence that concrete steps will be made to further develop the bilateral relations.
For his part, Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti noted that Belarus and Angola could raise their relations to a higher level. Angola has a full picture of Belarus’ potential for the development of the bilateral relations, he added.
The Angolan minister of foreign affairs is in Belarus on an official visit from 25 to 27 June. Plans have been made to identify major areas for further strengthening of the Belarusian-Angolan cooperation during the visit.
